This is the only occurrence of the name Klytaimnestra in the Iliad. It will be seen that book 1 has an indication of what is now generally acknowledged to be the correct form, Κλυταιμήστρη, given by the best MSS. of Aischylos and Soph., though the rest have the faulty -μνήστρη. |
