ὅς κε with fut. indic. seems equivalent, wherever it occurs, to ὅστε, Att. ὅστις (H. G. § 266), and describes a class, ‘men who will honour me.’ Those who are engaged in the task of expelling from H. all instances of κε with fut. indic. (an attempt which I regard as wholly mistaken) would do well to write here οἵ τε (not οἵ γε with van L.) rather than τιμήσωσι. For other instances of this use of ὅς κε see 2.229, 9.155, 10.282, 21.587, 22.70, 23.675, Od. 5.36, Od. 16.438. See note on 22.66. |
