Πλούτων), the god of the nether world, son of Kronus and Rhea, brother to Zeus, Ζεὺς καὶ ἐγώ, τρίτατος δʼ Ἄιδης Il.; called Ζεὺς καταχθόνιος Ib.; εἰν or εἰσʼ Αΐδαο (sc. δόμοις, δόμους) in, into the nether world, Hom.; εἰν Ἄϊδος Il.; ἐν Ἅιδου, ἐς Ἅιδου (sc. οἴκῳ, οἶκον) Att.;—also Ἄϊδόσδε Adv., Il.
